About the role#
As a Hydropower Engineering Intern or Co-Op, you will work within our Power sector to support energy projects. You will work under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager to gain practical experience. You will also have the chance to connect with company leaders and recent graduates through our mentoring and young professionals programs.
What you'll do#
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to project tasks.
- Assist with field observations and data collection.
- Help compile engineering reports and memos.
- Participate in projects while learning from experienced engineers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, specifically in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
- A commitment to participating in our employee-owned culture.
- Ability to safely navigate active construction sites.
- An interest in hydroelectric power and dam safety.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software relevant to your field of study.
- Preference is given to students who have completed at least 2 years of their degree with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Preference is given to local candidates.
