About the role#
HDR is seeking a GIS Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within our Resources Business group to gain hands-on experience and contribute to our ongoing projects. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Dallas, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to your work.
- Participate in real-world project tasks under the direct supervision of a Project Manager or professional.
- Connect with company leaders and recent graduates through our young professionals and mentoring programs.
- Handle other duties as assigned to support the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program.
- At least 2 years of coursework completed toward your degree.
- A 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Pursuit of a degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software packages relevant to your field of study.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with high attention to detail.
- A commitment to participating in our employee-owned culture.

- This position is located on-site in Dallas, Texas.
- The internship takes place during the Summer of 2027.
