About the role#
HDR is seeking an Environmental Science Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship. You will work alongside experienced scientists to contribute to environmental projects and gain hands-on professional experience.
What you'll do#
- Apply standard scientific techniques and procedures to project work.
- Assist in the preparation of wetland delineation reports, environmental permit applications, National Environmental Policy Act documents, and biological assessments.
- Collect and map natural resource data in the field.
- Prepare figures and graphics.
- Conduct GIS data analysis.
- Engage with company leaders and recent graduates through mentoring and professional programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A commitment to participating in an employee-owned culture.
- Preferred: Completion of at least two years of your degree program with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of software packages relevant to the industry.
