About the role#
HDR is looking for a Civil/Structural Engineering Intern to join our team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support projects within our Power sector, contributing to the development of electricity generation and transmission systems.
What you'll do#
- Complete tasks of varying complexity as assigned by project leads or managers.
- Assist structural engineers with the preparation of design packages.
- Perform simple engineering calculations.
- Attend internal meetings and participate in field reviews.
- Follow project direction and guidance from senior staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to participating in our employee-owned culture.
- At least two years completed toward your degree with a 3.0+ GPA is preferred.
- Knowledge of industry-related software packages.
- Experience with computer-aided design programs like AutoCAD or MicroStation is desired.
- Coursework in Power or Energy is a plus.
