About the role#
The Project Management Intern will support the project team on active electrical construction projects. You will gain hands-on exposure to how a project is planned, budgeted, coordinated, and delivered. This role works with project managers and field teams, providing a look at both office and field operations. You will have a dedicated supervisor and mentor, and you will complete a capstone project to present to leadership at the end of the summer.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with maintaining schedules and tracking milestones.
- Track submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Maintain project files, contracts, and documentation in the management system.
- Track committed costs and budget comparisons.
- Support pay application preparation and invoice reconciliation.
- Track subcontractor compliance, including insurance and licensing.
- Coordinate material and equipment procurement.
- Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and action item logs.
- Support communication between the project team, field staff, clients, and vendors.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working with both office and field teams.
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar software is preferred.
- Prior construction internship, co-op, or trade background is preferred.
- A basic understanding of contracts, submittals, and change order processes is preferred.
