About the role#
The Field Engineer Intern works alongside superintendents and project managers on active electrical construction projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to how projects are built and managed in the field. You will be based on-site and involved in daily field operations throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Maintain as-built drawings and track RFIs and submittals.
- Support daily and weekly field reporting.
- Assist with material tracking, punch list coordination, and site walks.
- Observe and document field installation methods.
- Assist with basic quantity takeoffs and progress tracking.
- Participate in site safety briefings and toolbox talks.
- Support safety documentation and compliance tracking on site.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Willingness to work on active job sites.
- Ability to use required PPE and complete safety training (OSHA 10 is provided).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in an outdoor or field environment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Prior construction site experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with reading construction drawings and blueprints is preferred.
- Exposure to project management or scheduling software like Procore or Bluebeam is preferred.
