About the role#
As a Field Application Engineering Intern, you will work with our technical team in Elgin, Illinois. This role provides exposure to industrial-grade electrical connectors and the technical sales process. You will support our Field Application Engineers as they provide technical solutions and troubleshooting for our customers. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Build Bills of Materials and coordinate prototype or sample builds.
- Assist the engineering team with cable assembly and backplane designs, including part selection, quoting, and writing assembly procedures.
- Support the creation of technical drawings and documentation for custom components.
- Develop technical presentations and training materials for internal teams and customers.
- Help the Sales, Marketing, and FAE teams with event preparation, product certifications, and sample management.
- Learn about our product specifications and consultative sales strategies.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in engineering, a Master's in Engineering or Business, or an MBA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools like Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience with 2D or 3D CAD software is a plus.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Elgin, Illinois.
- This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- Compensation ranges from $22 to $25 per hour, depending on your class standing and experience.
- Please note that housing is not provided.
