About the role#
As a Facilities Maintenance Intern, you will perform repairs and maintenance across Harmons locations. You will work to keep stores running smoothly by handling minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks. This role involves both planned projects and responding to emergency maintenance requests.
What you'll do#
- Perform minor plumbing repairs like fixing leaking faucets, drains, and toilets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor electrical issues, including lights, plugs, and register belt switches.
- Paint and touch up interior and exterior surfaces.
- Conduct minor carpentry work, such as repairing doors, furniture, and windows.
- Install new equipment and fixtures.
- Repair flooring and ensure roof drains function correctly.
- Drive to suppliers to pick up parts and materials.
- Respond to maintenance requests and handle emergency repairs.
- Follow safety protocols and company policies.
- Assist the Vice President of Store Development and the Facilities Manager with various projects.
- Provide excellent customer service while working in store environments.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Two years of experience in maintenance or handyperson work is preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repair work.
- Familiarity with food service equipment is a plus.
- A valid driver license and a reliable vehicle to travel between stores and suppliers.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Ability to interpret policies and make decisions independently.
- A positive, self-directed attitude and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the day, as well as maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

- This is a paid, full-time internship based in West Valley City, Utah.
- The role is on-site and requires travel between locations.
- This is a rolling position.
