About the role#
This internship supports the office of Commissioner Denise Driehaus. You will work directly with staff on special projects and help the office serve the residents of Hamilton County. This is a paid, full-time position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Support the Commissioner and assigned staff on various projects.
- Engage with community members and stakeholders.
- Draft materials for public disbursement that align with the county mission.
- Handle administrative tasks such as composing correspondence, filing documents, and answering phone calls.
- Assist with event support, agenda preparation, and digital communications like newsletters.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of public sector budgeting and finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A valid driver's license, motor vehicle insurance, and access to a vehicle for work tasks.
Location & details#
- Location: 138 East Court St, Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Term: August through December 2026.
- Compensation: $16.00 per hour plus participation in the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System.
