Intern, Water Resources

About the role#

Halff is seeking a Water Resources Intern to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas. This role supports our core services in hydrology, hydraulic modeling, and water resources planning. You will work on a variety of engineering tasks under the guidance of experienced professionals.

What you'll do#

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist with drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water resources projects.
• Perform CAD drafting work and technical calculations for design projects.
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET-accredited equivalent.
• Strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and team-building abilities.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is preferred but not required.
