Intern, Public Works

About the role#

Halff is seeking a Public Works Intern to join the Public Works and Transportation team. This full-time, paid internship is available at either the Dallas or Richardson, Texas office. The role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering while working under the guidance of professional engineers.

What you'll do#

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Complete calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET-accredited equivalent engineering degree.
• Strong communication, relationship, and team-building skills.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational abilities.
