About the role#
The Richmond Research & Development Center creates consumer healthcare products for global markets. As an intern, you will work with scientists to support projects across product conceptualization, formulation, testing, and commercialization. This role offers exposure to the full product development process within a global company.
What you'll do#
- Support formulation, product development, product evaluation, and testing activities under mentor guidance.
- Conduct laboratory experiments, analyze data, and document findings while following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Maintain accurate scientific records and interpret results.
- Prepare presentations and share findings with project teams and stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
- Collaborate with partners across Formulation, Analytical, Regulatory, and Manufacturing departments.
- Adhere to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Present project outcomes and key learnings at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in consumer healthcare, research and development, or product testing.
- Experience with scientific experimentation and data analysis from coursework or laboratory projects.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or laboratory documentation.
Location & details#
- Location: Richmond, Virginia.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks).
- Work Modality: On-site, 5 days per week.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- Compensation: $22.50/hour for Sophomores, $24.50/hour for Juniors, and $26.00/hour for Seniors.
- Requirements: This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates are responsible for their own housing, transportation, and relocation arrangements.
