About the role#
The Propulsion Analysis team at Gulfstream develops and maintains methods to predict, evaluate, and optimize aircraft propulsion systems. This group handles tasks including engine performance modeling, cycle analysis, transient behavior, and compliance with regulatory requirements. As an intern, you will contribute to active engineering projects and gain hands-on experience in propulsion system modeling and aircraft performance evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and maintenance of engine cycle simulation models.
- Perform engine performance analyses and off-design studies.
- Assist in the development of analytical tools and automation methods.
- Analyze propulsion and aircraft performance data.
- Support studies involving fuel consumption, thrust performance, operability, and mission analysis.
- Assist with validation of analytical models using test and flight data.
- Participate in multidisciplinary studies involving aerodynamic, thermal, and structural interactions.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and engineering results.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of sophomore year prior to the start date.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong interest in aircraft propulsion systems and gas turbine engines.
- Familiarity with performance modeling and simulation techniques.
- Exposure to Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) or Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Exposure to multidisciplinary simulation approaches, such as Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI).
- Experience with coding, scripting, or process automation.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
