About the role#
This internship is a scoped project where you own a deliverable from start to finish. You will work with a dedicated mentor and demo your results to the team. Internships are available for a duration of 3 months or 6 months. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Train policies using imitation learning, reinforcement learning, or fine-tuned foundation models for real robot tasks.
- Build and maintain data collection and evaluation pipelines, including running ablations.
- Deploy policies on hardware and iterate based on real-world performance.
- Test your work directly on robots at the office.
- Gain hands-on experience with pose estimation, VLM, VLA, 3D scene reconstruction, object detection, and multimodal learning.
- Have the opportunity to attend Tier-1 industry conferences and publish research if you are a PhD intern.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field (exceptional undergraduates are welcome).
- Strong proficiency in PyTorch and a solid grounding in deep learning plus either imitation learning or reinforcement learning.
- Demonstrated applied experience through publications, open-source contributions, or substantial course and competition projects.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks with light supervision and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
- Preferred experience includes work with simulators like Isaac or MuJoCo, VLA or foundation models, tele-op data collection, or real-hardware deployment.
