About the role#
Gritt Robotics is seeking a Robot Learning Engineer Intern to join the R&D team. This role involves owning a defined project end-to-end with mentorship and the opportunity to demo results to the team. Internships are available for durations of 3 or 6 months.
What you'll do#
- Train policies for real robot tasks using imitation learning, reinforcement learning, or fine-tuned foundation models.
- Build and manage data collection and evaluation pipelines, including running ablations.
- Deploy policies on hardware and iterate based on real-world performance.
- Test your work directly on robots at the office.
- Work on technical challenges including pose estimation, VLM, VLA, 3D scene reconstruction, object detection, and multimodal learning.
- Potentially publish research and attend industry conferences.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in PyTorch and a solid grounding in deep learning.
- Experience with either imitation learning or reinforcement learning.
- Applied evidence of your skills through publications, open-source projects, or substantial course and competition work.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks with light supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
- Experience with simulators such as Isaac or MuJoCo, VLA models, tele-op data collection, or real-hardware deployment is a plus.
