Accounting Intern

About the role#

This paid internship provides support to the Accounting Department at Green Bay Packaging. The role is designed for a college student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field to gain practical experience with core accounting processes, including accounts payable and vendor reconciliation.

What you'll do#

• Match vendor invoices against purchase orders, requisitions, and receiving reports.
• Verify the accuracy of vendor pricing.
• Prepare vouchers for payment and enter data into the accounts payable system.
• Perform reconciliations of vendor statements.
• Maintain electronic files through scanning and organization.
• Assist the Financial Controller with various departmental projects.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a higher education program seeking a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related major.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
