About the role#
The Grand Forks Spitfires are seeking a Merchandise Intern for the 2027 season. This role offers hands-on experience in merchandise management, inventory control, and retail sales within the sports industry. You will support both merchandise and broader ballpark operations while representing the team at games and community events.
What you'll do#
- Execute daily merchandise operations, including store setup, stocking, and cleaning.
- Manage cash and credit card transactions for customers.
- Track inventory levels, complete reports after each home stand, and handle merchandise storage.
- Distribute marketing materials like pocket schedules and posters throughout the community.
- Assist with general ballpark, event, and Family Fun Zone setup and tear-down.
- Maintain cleanliness across the facility, including seating areas and the Family Fun Zone.
- Perform as the team mascot at least once during the summer.
- Support front office staff with various assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current college student in a field such as Sport Management, Business, Marketing, or Merchandising.
- Experience with cash handling and customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
- Ability to lift 50 to 150 lbs and work shifts lasting up to 14 hours.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.

- Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 24 to August 13).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position with a $500 monthly stipend.
- Housing: Available upon request (intern is responsible for utilities).
- Schedule: Includes all home games, team events, weekends, holidays, and weekday office hours.
