About the role#
We are looking for an HR Intern to join our team in Hilliard. This role offers hands-on experience with compliance, onboarding, and project support. You will help keep employee records accurate and assist with daily HR operations. This position provides practical skills for those interested in how HR supports both employees and the business.
What you'll do#
- Update company databases by entering new employee records.
- Screen resumes and application forms for open positions.
- Assist with HR project management and tracking.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Handle personnel administration and employee information.
- Audit I-9 files and follow up with employees on documentation.
- Maintain HR documents to ensure they are current and organized.
- Provide administrative support, including occasional visits to construction jobsites.
- Act as a backup point of contact for the HR team.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or current enrollment in a related program.
- At least one year of experience in an office environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A basic understanding of employee and labor laws.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team, including with remote colleagues.
- Familiarity with HRIS software is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Hilliard, Ohio.
- Schedule: 15-25 hours per week, flexible based on your school hours.
- Pay: $20 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, rolling internship.
