About the role#
The APL Quantum Intern will support development in quantum advanced packaging. This includes work on wafer-to-wafer and die-to-wafer hybrid bonding, interposer development, and through-silicon or through-oxide vias. You will work directly with engineering teams to execute experiments, build process models, and support daily integration tasks.
What you'll do#
- Plan and carry out design of experiments using internal semiconductor tooling and equipment at external partner sites.
- Analyze and interpret engineering data gathered from experiments and process optimizations.
- Develop or support process models to improve the understanding of integration performance.
- Assist engineers with daily documentation, problem solving, and process development.
- Communicate technical findings and experimental results to project stakeholders.
- Maintain safety standards and support all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs.
What you'll need#
- You are at least a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- You maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and are in good academic standing.
- You are fluent in written and spoken English.
- You can commit to working at least 40 hours per week.
- Preference is given to candidates with prior internship experience, leadership experience, or current enrollment in a PhD program.
- We value skills in project management, planning, and organization, as well as an interest in using AI tools for workflow improvement.
- Experience with semiconductor integration, hybrid bonding, or engineering data analysis is a plus.
- Availability for a six-month co-op assignment is preferred.
