About the role#
GlobalFoundries is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Intern to work within our 300mm factory. You will partner with engineers, technicians, and managers to improve manufacturing processes and equipment performance. This role focuses on technical problem solving and data-driven improvements in a production environment.
What you'll do#
- Lead improvement projects and present your findings to the team.
- Reduce variability in process recovery procedures.
- Improve problem detection capabilities and enhance limits of detection.
- Lower the cost of chemicals and qualification wafers.
- Standardize processes across similar equipment.
- Enhance techniques used to measure process performance.
- Collaborate daily with equipment and maintenance teams.
- Support all safety, health, and security programs while ensuring all tasks are performed responsibly.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor’s program for Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Experience with SPC controls.
- Understanding of complex automated systems and human interactions.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and project management skills.
- Interest in using AI tools and new technologies to streamline workflows.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage commitments.
