About the role#
GlobalFoundries is seeking Process and Equipment Engineering interns for our 300mm factory in Malta, New York. This full-time internship takes place during the Summer of 2027. You will work alongside engineers to improve manufacturing efficiency and equipment performance.
What you'll do#
- Reduce variability in process recovery procedures.
- Improve problem detection capabilities and limits of detection.
- Lower costs associated with chemicals and qualification wafers.
- Standardize processes across similar equipment.
- Enhance techniques used to measure process performance.
- Lead improvement projects and present your findings.
- Work with equipment and maintenance teams, including technicians, managers, and production staff.
- Maintain a safe work environment and support all health, safety, and security programs.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing are required.
- Fluency in written and verbal English.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with SPC controls.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Understanding of complex automated systems and human interactions.
