About the role#
GlobalFoundries is looking for Process & Equipment Engineering interns to join our 300mm factory in Malta, New York. You will work alongside engineers to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and standardize equipment performance. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Reduce variability in process recovery procedures.
- Improve problem detection capabilities.
- Lower the cost of chemicals and qualification wafers.
- Standardize processes across similar equipment.
- Enhance measurement techniques for process performance.
- Lead improvement projects and present your findings.
- Collaborate with equipment, maintenance, and production teams.
- Maintain safety standards and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor’s program for Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Prior internship or co-op experience.
- Familiarity with SPC Controls.
- Experience with project management and leadership roles.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and understand complex automated systems.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- An interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies to improve workflows.
