About the role#
GlobalFoundries is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Intern for our 300mm factory in Malta, New York. This role focuses on process and equipment engineering within our semiconductor manufacturing operations. You will work alongside engineers to improve factory performance, standardize equipment processes, and manage improvement projects. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Reduce variability in process recovery procedures.
- Improve problem detection capabilities.
- Lower the cost of chemicals and qualification wafers.
- Standardize processes across similar equipment.
- Enhance techniques for measuring process performance.
- Lead improvement projects and present your findings.
- Collaborate with equipment and maintenance teams.
- Maintain safety standards and support all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor program for Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 overall GPA and good academic standing.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Availability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Ability to understand complex automated systems and human interactions.
- Experience with SPC Controls.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and project management skills.
- An interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies to support workflows.
