About the role#
This internship is for engineers who want to use their technical background in a different way. You will learn to identify exceptional talent by reviewing engineering work and speaking with candidates. Your goal is to develop the judgment to assess who has real technical depth and who can raise the level of the team. You do not need prior recruiting experience, but you do need an engineering mindset and an interest in people.
What you'll do#
- Review engineering resumes, portfolios, CAD, PCB work, hardware photos, and test results.
- Decide which candidates are worth advancing by understanding what they actually designed, built, and owned.
- Assess technical depth, ownership, motivation, and fit for GITAI.
- Source engineering talent and manage candidates through the recruiting process.
- Work closely with GITAI engineers to learn from hiring outcomes and sharpen your judgment.
What you'll need#
- Currently in your final year of or have graduated from a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Robotics, or Computer Engineering.
- A strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in hardware engineering.
- High ownership, speed, and a willingness to learn by doing.
- Strong communication skills and comfort talking with engineers and candidates.
- You must be authorized to work in the U.S. and meet ITAR requirements.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship based in Torrance, California.
- The role is hourly and non-exempt.
- We do not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
- Occasional travel may be required for university recruiting events.
