Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will contribute to the daily operations of the pharmacy department. This role focuses on providing safe, accurate patient care while maintaining an efficient and compliant work environment. You will work under the supervision of pharmacists to support patient needs and department business goals.

What you'll do#

• Engage with patients immediately to address their needs, answer questions, and assist with over-the-counter or prescription inquiries.
• Perform pharmacy technician duties, including the selection and counting of medication and durable medical equipment.
• Process prescription information, enter patient data, and manage insurance billing and third-party rejections.
• Maintain inventory levels by submitting orders and managing on-hand counts.
• Ensure the pharmacy remains clean, organized, and compliant with all HIPAA and pseudoephedrine regulations.
• Assist the team with administrative tasks, including processing medical expense reports and filing written prescriptions.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program.
• An active in-state Pharmacy Intern License.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• 0 to 6 months of relevant experience.
