About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Giant Eagle, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy department. You will work directly with patients and team members to ensure accurate, safe, and efficient care. This role involves handling administrative tasks, managing inventory, and assisting with the dispensing process under the supervision of a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Welcome patients and help them with their pharmacy needs in person or over the phone.
- Process sales at the cash register following company procedures.
- File written prescriptions and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Manage inventory levels by updating counts and assisting with physical inventories.
- Enter patient data, insurance information, and prescription details into the system.
- Support team members to keep the department running smoothly.
- Perform the regular duties of a Pharmacy Technician, including medication selection and counting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program.
- An active in-state Pharmacy Intern License.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Between 0 and 6 months of relevant experience.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Majors in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Biology, or Health Administration are relevant to this role.
