About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy department in providing safe, accurate, and efficient care. You will engage with patients to provide service and assist the team in maintaining department operations. This role is based on-site in Sewickley, Pennsylvania.
What you'll do#
- Welcome and acknowledge patients at pharmacy entry points with a professional and compassionate approach.
- Assist team members with daily tasks to ensure the department runs efficiently.
- Maintain proper inventory levels by adjusting order points, quantities, and on-hand counts.
- File written prescriptions daily and finalize sales using the cash register.
- Perform supporting duties for medication dispensing, including selecting and counting medication while following quality assurance policies.
- Enter patient data, insurance information, and prescription details into the system.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as processing medical expense reports and managing insurance billing.
- Comply with all company and pharmacy policies, including HIPAA and pseudoephedrine regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program.
- Active in-state Pharmacy Intern License.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- 0 to 6 months of experience.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
