About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Giant Eagle, you will support the pharmacy department by providing patient care and assisting with daily operations. This role focuses on maintaining service standards, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate medication processing while working under the supervision of pharmacists.
What you'll do#
- Welcome patients immediately upon arrival and provide compassionate service.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by adjusting order points and maintaining on-hand counts.
- Process prescription information, including data entry and insurance billing documentation.
- Finalize sales at the cash register according to established point-of-sale policies.
- Assist team members with daily tasks to ensure efficient department operations.
- File written prescriptions and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Perform the regular duties of a Pharmacy Technician, including the selection and counting of medication.
- Comply with all company and pharmacy policies, including HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program.
- Active in-state Pharmacy Intern License.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Zero to 6 months of relevant experience.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Relevant coursework in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Biology, or Health Administration.
