About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team in providing accurate and efficient care to patients. This role involves managing daily operations, assisting with medication dispensing, and ensuring that all company and government standards are met. You will work on-site to help maintain a service-oriented environment while building relationships with patients.
What you'll do#
- Welcome and acknowledge patients at all pharmacy entry points.
- Maintain proper inventory levels by submitting online orders and managing on-hand counts.
- Assist team members with daily tasks to ensure the department operates efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Process medical expense reports.
- Perform duties related to prescription processing, including data entry, insurance billing, and medication dispensing under the guidance of a pharmacist.
- Finalize sales using the cash register and assist with patient inquiries regarding products and services.
What you'll need#
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program.
- Active in-state Pharmacy Intern License.
- 0 to 6 months of relevant experience.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Majors in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Health Administration, Nursing, or Public Health are preferred.
