About the role#
This co-op position supports the Design Services department. You will work on research and physical design requirements for transmission lines and electrical power substations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Tucker, Georgia, for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Draft modifications for substation physical drawings, including foundation designs and steel or concrete structures.
- Perform electrical ground grid analysis and estimate project costs.
- Assemble design drawing packages for approval and issue construction prints.
- Prepare purchase orders and drawing lists.
- Visit pre-designed substations and pre-construction project sites.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a university Co-op or Intern program.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Ability to work full-time hours.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Excel spreadsheets, including macros.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Major in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
