About the role#
Geoprobe Systems is looking for a Welder-Fabricator Intern to join our production team in Salina. You will help build a variety of parts for drilling rigs and equipment. This role involves fabricating, cleaning, and inspecting components before they move to the next stage of production. This is a paid, part-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Safely fabricate and assemble metal structures using MIG welders, band saws, shears, metal punches, and measuring tools.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine project materials, operations, and timeframes.
- Determine the appropriate size and length of welds when documentation does not specify.
- Provide quality finished work within a reasonable timeframe, both with and without the use of fixturing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment and good standing in a Welding Technology program at a technical college.
- One reference from an instructor at your high school or technical college.
- Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
