About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience with drilling and tooling machines. You will work within the service department in Salina, Kansas, to learn about mechanical and electrical systems. The role focuses on practical tasks that support real customer needs and helps you understand how engineering designs function in a shop environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of technical drilling equipment.
- Diagnose issues and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
- Read and interpret schematic engineering drawings and manuals.
- Support the assembly and disassembly of components and systems.
- Gain exposure to machine and fabrication shop operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Freshman or Sophomore.
- Pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Physical strength and coordination to work on heavy machinery.
- Ability to work well within a team and take initiative on projects.
