About the role#
As an intern at Gentec inc., you will support the R&D software team in designing, building, and maintaining software. You will work under the supervision of experienced team members to gain hands-on experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to software design, including creating diagrams, schemas, and participating in design reviews.
- Complete supervised programming tasks.
- Set up and run tests, such as unit and integration tests.
- Provide first-level support for existing products.
- Handle additional tasks as project needs and learning goals evolve.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
- Knowledge of C++ acquired through university coursework or previous internships.
- Understanding of object-oriented, real-time, and multi-tasking system design.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
- Interest in embedded systems like Linux, QNX, or VxWorks.
- Ability to learn quickly, work well in a team, and demonstrate attention to detail.

This is a full-time, paid internship based in Québec, Quebec. The role follows a hybrid work model with a flexible schedule. Free parking is available on-site.
