About the role#
As a Software Developer Intern, you will help build the next generation of web experiences and backend services. You will contribute production-quality code using modern frontend technologies and cloud services while working alongside experienced developers. This role provides hands-on exposure to scalable web applications, automated testing, and enterprise-scale initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Develop responsive web applications and backend services that improve the usability, performance, and scalability of Genesys products.
- Contribute to next-generation Web UIs using modern JavaScript and TypeScript technologies, including Vue.js.
- Implement product enhancements and resolve software defects while maintaining code quality and reliability.
- Build unit tests and automation to support efficient development and release processes.
- Collaborate with experienced developers through code reviews and technical discussions.
- Apply AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and SQS to support cloud-based applications.
- Contribute ideas and learn from peer feedback to improve engineering practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrolment in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of developing responsive, single-page web applications using modern JavaScript libraries or frameworks.
- Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and AWS technologies.
- Understanding of software development fundamentals, including testing, debugging, version control, and code quality.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to contribute effectively within an agile team.
- Preferred: Experience with Vue.js, Knockout, Java, Clojure, LESS, Mocha, Chai, Webpack, or CI tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027 (8 to 16 months beginning in May or June 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid (1 to 2 days per week in the Toronto office).
- Type: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
