About the role#
As a Web Software Developer Intern, you will join the Genesys Cloud Workforce Management team. You will build production-quality web applications and backend services that support billions of customer interactions. This role offers hands-on experience with modern frontend technologies, Java, Clojure, and AWS. You will contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, including feature implementation, bug fixing, unit testing, and automation, all while receiving mentorship from experienced engineers.
What you'll do#
- Build responsive web user interfaces using modern JavaScript and TypeScript with a focus on usability and maintainability.
- Implement cloud-based functionality using AWS services to support scalable and reliable applications.
- Deliver product enhancements and bug fixes.
- Contribute unit tests and automation to strengthen software quality.
- Collaborate with developers through peer reviews and agile development practices.
- Apply modern engineering tools to improve code quality and development efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of developing responsive, single-page web applications using modern JavaScript libraries or frameworks.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable web development technologies.
- Knowledge of AWS technologies or fundamental cloud computing concepts.
- Understanding of software development fundamentals, such as testing, debugging, or version control.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Interest in contributing within an agile software development environment.
- Exposure to frontend tools like HTML5, CSS3, LESS, Knockout, Vue.js, Mocha, Chai, or Webpack is a plus.
- Familiarity with backend development using Java, Clojure, or similar languages is preferred.
- Exposure to AWS services like EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, or SQS is a plus.
- Familiarity with development tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or Jenkins is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (1-2 days per week in the Toronto office).
- Term: Summer 2027 (8 to 16 months).
- Employment: Full time, paid internship.
