About the role#
As a Web Software Developer Intern, you will work with the Genesys Cloud Workforce Management team to build production-quality web applications and backend services. You will contribute to technology that supports global customer interactions. This role offers hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks, cloud architecture, and backend development. You will work alongside experienced engineers to solve challenges related to usability, scalability, and reliability.
What you'll do#
- Develop production-quality web applications and backend services.
- Build responsive web user interfaces using modern JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Implement cloud-based functionality using AWS services.
- Deliver product enhancements and bug fixes.
- Contribute unit tests and automation to improve software quality.
- Collaborate with developers through peer reviews and agile practices.
- Participate across the software development lifecycle.
- Apply engineering tools to improve code quality and development efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of developing responsive, single-page web applications using modern JavaScript libraries or frameworks.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Understanding of AWS technologies or fundamental cloud computing concepts.
- Knowledge of software development fundamentals, such as testing, debugging, or version control.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Interest in working within an agile development environment.
- Exposure to frontend tools like HTML5, CSS3, LESS, Knockout, Vue.js, Mocha, Chai, or Webpack is a plus.
- Familiarity with backend development using Java, Clojure, or similar languages.
- Experience with AWS services like EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, or SQS is beneficial.
- Familiarity with development tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or Jenkins.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027 (8 to 16 months).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (1-2 days per week in the Toronto office).
- Employment Type: Full time.
