About the role#
As a Software Developer Intern, you will contribute to the next generation of web experiences and backend services supporting over 70 billion customer interactions annually. You will work across the software development lifecycle, gaining practical experience with scalable web applications, automated testing, and cloud technologies. You will collaborate with experienced developers to build production-quality code and support enterprise-scale initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Develop responsive web applications and backend services to improve product usability, performance, and scalability.
- Contribute to web UIs using modern JavaScript and TypeScript, including Vue.js.
- Implement product enhancements and resolve software defects while maintaining code quality.
- Build unit tests and automation to support efficient development and release processes.
- Collaborate through code reviews, technical discussions, and agile development practices.
- Apply AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and SQS to support cloud-based applications.
- Contribute ideas and learn from peer feedback to improve engineering practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrolment in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of developing responsive, single-page web applications using modern JavaScript libraries or frameworks.
- Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and AWS technologies.
- Understanding of software development fundamentals, including testing, debugging, version control, and code quality.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to contribute effectively within an agile software development team.
- Experience with Vue.js, Knockout, or similar frontend frameworks is preferred.
- Familiarity with Java, Clojure, LESS, Mocha, Chai, Webpack, or CI/CD tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, or Jenkins is an asset.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (1-2 days per week in the Toronto office).
- Term: Summer 2027 (8 to 16 months).
- Type: Full-time internship.
