About the role#
As a Software Developer Intern on the Genesys Cloud team, you will embed directly into an agile engineering team. You will contribute to projects focused on reporting and data insights. You will use AI tools to accelerate development, improve software quality, and enhance engineering workflows. You can expect dedicated mentorship and exposure to leadership across our Cloud business.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and test scalable, reliable features for our reporting and analytics solutions.
- Use modern AI coding assistants and development tools to explore, prototype, write, and refactor code.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and acceptance tests to ensure stability and performance.
- Participate in peer code reviews, architectural discussions, and agile team ceremonies.
- Uphold standards for security, data privacy, and the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
- Engage with teammates and learn to build software together.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Familiarity with at least one modern programming language such as Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Java.
- Familiarity with Git version control systems like Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies, cloud architectures, and data stacks.
- Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience or active experimentation with AI developer tools and agentic coding assistants.
- Exposure to data visualization, reporting pipelines, or API integrations.
- Prior experience or coursework in automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud services like AWS.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario.
- Term: Summer 2027 (8 to 16 months).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (1-2 days per week in the Toronto office).
- Employment Type: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: Paid internship.
