About the role#
The Program Management Intern supports Program and Studio Management within GMNA Design. This role focuses on process documentation, coordination, and continuous improvement. You will help maintain the Program Management milestone checklist and related templates that enable consistent execution across design teams. You will work with Program Managers, Assistant Program Managers, and studio partners to document current workflows and develop repeatable ways of working.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and improve the Program Management milestone checklist by clarifying requirements and ownership.
- Work with stakeholders to document workflows, handoffs, inputs, outputs, dependencies, and decision points.
- Create process maps, workflow diagrams, standard work, and reference materials.
- Identify process gaps, bottlenecks, duplicated efforts, and unclear ownership to support future-state recommendations.
- Organize information from meetings and working sessions, including action logs, decision logs, and follow-up activities.
- Update templates, gate-readiness materials, review tools, and status presentations.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in business, engineering, operations, industrial engineering, information systems, design, or a related field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the summer of 2027.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize information from multiple stakeholders and organize ambiguous data into structured outputs.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace.
- Experience or exposure to process improvement, business analysis, project management, or organizational effectiveness is preferred.
- Familiarity with process-mapping tools, flowcharts, or swimlane diagrams is a plus.
- Understanding of automotive design or product development environments is helpful.

- Modality: On-site at the GM Global Technical Center.
- Term: Summer 2027 (starting in May or June).
