About the role#
General Motors is looking for a software developer to join our Infotainment team. You will work on Android-based systems, contributing to software-defined vehicle solutions that impact the driving experience. This is a full-time, 12-month co-op position starting in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Deliver software solutions for infotainment applications and services.
- Design and implement software requirements using development frameworks in Android, QNX, and Linux.
- Apply software design principles and patterns to create effective solutions.
- Handle data analysis and problem-solving to connect software behavior to real-world outcomes.
- Build application logic and automation tools to improve development efficiency.
- Support testing and debugging by validating software behavior and documenting results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to turn user-experience ideas into prototypes.
- Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and project planning.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Enrollment in a co-op program.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for a 12-month term starting January 2027.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: Hybrid. You are expected to report to the Markham Elevation Centre at least three times per week.
- Term: Winter 2027.
