GPS Student Apprentice - RTS

About the role#

Generac is seeking a GPS Student Apprentice for the RTS team. This position is open to current High School students enrolled in a qualified GPS Apprenticeship program through an area High School. This is a paid, full-time apprenticeship opportunity.

What you'll do#

• Perform assembly tasks using work instructions, drawings, schematics, and electronic assembly equipment.
• Maintain safe and effective operation of all tools and equipment.
• Cross-train across multiple assembly areas and support other departments as business needs require.
• Develop a working understanding of the products assembled and their impact on the business.
• Participate in team meetings to exchange job-related information.
• Resolve assembly problems with support from peers or supervisors.
• Provide basic training to other employees regarding work instructions and standard procedures.

What you'll need#

• Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.
• Capacity to understand and execute basic standard assembly procedures, interpret visual diagrams, and use hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment.
• Proficiency in basic reading, writing, and math functions.
• Ability to follow established safety procedures, processes, and policies.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk, stoop, crouch, and bend.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
