GPS Student Apprentice - Electrical

About the role#

The GPS Student Apprentice - Electrical position is a paid, full-time apprenticeship for High School students enrolled in a qualified GPS Apprenticeship program. This role is based on-site in a manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with assembly processes and equipment.

What you'll do#

• Perform assembly tasks using work instructions, drawings, schematics, and electronic assembly equipment.
• Cross-train across multiple assembly areas to support business needs.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the products being assembled.
• Resolve assembly problems with support from peers and supervisors.
• Provide basic training to other employees on work instructions and standard procedures as needed.
• Participate in team meetings to exchange job-related information.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment as a High School student in a qualified GPS Apprenticeship program.
• Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret basic visual diagrams and use standard hand tools.
• Proficiency in basic reading, writing, and math functions.
• Ability to follow established safety procedures, processes, and policies consistently.
• Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment.

• Work Modality: On-site
• Physical Requirements: This role requires regular standing, walking, stooping, and reaching. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. The work environment includes exposure to typical manufacturing conditions, including temperature variations and potential fumes.
