About the role#
Gecko Robotics is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineering Intern for our New York office during Summer 2027. You will join our engineering team to build customer-facing applications that transform raw sensor and robot data into actionable insights for critical infrastructure maintenance. You will work on a defined, scoped project from initial design through to final deployment, supported by a mentor.
What you'll do#
- Own a full-stack project from design to deployment.
- Build frontend features using React and TypeScript to support operational workflows.
- Develop backend APIs and services in Python to ingest and transform data.
- Design data models and schemas while writing logic to parse and validate information from multiple sources.
- Use version control, code reviews, and testing to produce maintainable code.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and Forward Deployment Engineers.
- Present your project results and recommendations at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Foundational experience in Python and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience building an end-to-end web application through coursework, projects, or prior internships.
- Familiarity with Git, relational databases, and REST APIs.
- Ability to independently research solutions, organize tasks, and incorporate feedback.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, onsite internship located in New York, New York.
- You must be available to work Monday through Friday for the duration of the Summer 2027 term.
- Sponsorship is not available for this role.
