About the role#
As a Reliability Engineer Co-Op within the METEM team, you will ensure the long-term health and performance of specialized assets used to build advanced gas turbines. You will focus on minimizing equipment downtime and optimizing maintenance strategies for non-traditional machining technologies, including Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), Fast Hole Drilling (FHD), and Electrochemical Machining (ECM).
What you'll do#
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends in unplanned downtime and equipment degradation.
- Lead or participate in deep dive investigations into equipment failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Help develop and refine preventative and predictive maintenance programs to improve mean time between failures.
- Evaluate equipment criticality to prioritize maintenance activities and optimize spare parts inventory.
- Partner with maintenance technicians and process engineers to troubleshoot recurring mechanical, electrical, or chemical system issues.
- Participate in Kaizen and 5S events to optimize shop floor layouts and identify opportunities to reduce waste.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Material Science Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
- Interest in equipment life-cycle management, maintenance engineering, or reliability-centered maintenance.
- Analytical approach to problem-solving and the ability to identify patterns of failure.
- Basic understanding of mechanical components, such as pumps, motors, and actuators, or electrical control systems.

- Term: Fall 2026 and Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
