About the role#
This co-op position focuses on manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement within the METEM team. You will support the optimization of non-traditional machining processes, such as Electrical Discharge Machining, Fast Hole Drilling, or Electrochemical Machining, to support global power generation fleets. This role is a full-time, on-site opportunity for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Reduce variation in key process parameters to drive customer satisfaction, quality, and fulfillment.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify waste and generate productivity savings.
- Troubleshoot complex chemical and mechanical process equipment to resolve technical issues in real-time.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements based on your technical analysis.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of production equipment by maintaining knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate engineering program, specifically in Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Material Science Engineering.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, without rounding.
- A strong interest in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- An analytical mindset capable of troubleshooting complex technical problems.
- A self-motivated approach with the desire to take ownership of projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. Government export restrictions.
