About the role#
GE Appliances is hiring students for a Fall 2027 Engineering and Manufacturing co-op program in Decatur, Alabama. This full-time position supports refrigeration operations. You will work in a team environment across disciplines like process engineering, shop operations, quality, sourcing, and supply chain management. This role provides hands-on manufacturing experience and opportunities to network with business leaders.
What you'll do#
- Define goals and objectives for your rotation with your assignment leader.
- Lead teams across the business by influencing others.
- Develop and execute project ideas.
- Find and implement process improvements.
- Use an analytical approach to solve problems.
- Participate in regular feedback sessions with your manager.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
- A graduation date of May 2028 or later.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. We do not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
- Willingness to explore various areas of the supply chain including manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and distribution.
Location & details#
- Location: Decatur, Alabama.
- Term: August 16, 2027, to December 10, 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Roles are on the 1st shift, with start times between 5:30 AM and 8:00 AM. Some overtime and Saturdays may be required. Reliable daily transportation is necessary.
- Compensation: This is a paid position. Housing and relocation assistance is available.
