    About the role#

    The Mechanical Project Manager Intern works alongside the project management team within our mechanical division. This role is designed to build your industry knowledge and support your career growth at FTI. You will gain exposure to the planning and execution of construction projects while working on-site.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with planning, organizing, and staffing electrical and specialty systems construction projects.
    • Visit various jobsites to interact with crews, customers, foremen, and general contractors.
    • Review portions of outgoing estimates with the Estimating Department to check for accuracy.
    • Contact vendors to secure materials for construction projects.
    • Attend weekly and monthly meetings, including staffing and project manager sessions.
    • Process miscellaneous project paperwork.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited institution working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Proficiency with a PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • No previous work experience is required, though relevant coursework or prior internships are helpful.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Olathe, Kansas.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, with a requirement for a flexible schedule.
    • Travel: This role requires 15 to 20% travel.
    • Employment: Full-time, paid internship with rolling start dates.
