About the role#
We are looking for a Finance/Accounting Intern to join our team in Durham. This is a part-time, paid position with a rolling start date. You will work on-site and gain hands-on experience with internal controls, audits, and financial process improvements.
What you'll do#
- Support internal control assessments, audit activities, and process documentation.
- Analyze and test existing control processes to suggest improvements.
- Update documentation to help ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with audits of control effectiveness.
- Evaluate progress on addressing identified risks and deficiencies.
- Work with the Finance and Accounting team on project support and process improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation and provide input for future risk mitigation strategies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Rising junior or senior status is preferred.
- Completed core coursework in your major.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Power BI is a plus.
- Exposure to data analytics, process automation, or other business intelligence tools.
