About the role#
The Public Markets Intern supports the investment platform at Freestone, covering both fixed income and equities. You will work directly with portfolio managers on various projects throughout the summer. The program includes regular training and networking. High-performing interns may be invited to extend their term or transition into a full-time Associate role.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on asset classes and managers, and perform general investment diligence.
- Support portfolio managers by analyzing existing holdings and preparing recommendations.
- Produce written materials to help educate advisors and clients about public market investments.
- Maintain the firm's CRM, electronic files, and various investment reports.
- Assist with other tasks necessary to support the investment process.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising senior with a strong interest in a finance career.
- You have a solid academic record in Finance, Economics, or Mathematics.
- You are proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- You possess excellent quantitative, analytical, and communication skills.
- You can manage projects independently, handle pressure, and meet deadlines.
- You are a self-starter with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Experience with Bloomberg Terminal, programming, data analysis, or large language models is a plus.

- Compensation: $28 per hour.
