About the role#
Freese and Nichols offers paid, full-time summer internships for students interested in water and transportation infrastructure. You will work alongside experienced engineers on projects that support communities and improve infrastructure. This program provides an immersive experience where you contribute to real work while building your professional network through collaboration and development events.
What you'll do#
- Support project teams with calculations, analysis, and design tasks.
- Prepare plans, reports, and other project deliverables.
- Collect and analyze project or field data.
- Work with experienced engineers to review your work and build technical skills.
- Use software and tools to help solve project problems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS degree program in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or Urban Planning.
- Expected graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Student organizational involvement is preferred.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Locations: Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Denton, El Paso, Fort Worth, Frisco, Harlingen, Houston, Lubbock, Pearland, San Antonio, and San Marcos, Texas.
- Note: Relocation and housing stipends are not provided.
