    About the role#

    FortisBC is hiring for a two-year position within the Indigenous Intern Leadership Program. This role supports the Indigenous Initiatives department by fostering relationships and managing stakeholder engagement. You will work on-site in Surrey, British Columbia, as part of a full-time, paid internship.

    What you'll do#

    • Build and maintain relationships between FortisBC and Indigenous communities.
    • Manage stakeholder tracking and communications.
    • Plan and attend events relevant to company projects.
    • Participate in internal and external project meetings.
    • Create and deliver presentations for various audiences.

    What you'll need#

    • Self-identify as Indigenous and be a resident of British Columbia.
    • Be 35 years or younger at the start of employment.
    • Hold a degree, diploma, or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution or trades program.
    • Possess a valid BC Driver’s License and the ability to travel across FortisBC service areas.
    • Hold a valid Social Insurance Number.
    • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
    • Understand the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
    • Proficient in MS Office and able to explain complex ideas clearly.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
