About the role#
FortisBC is hiring for a two-year position within the Indigenous Intern Leadership Program. This role supports the Indigenous Initiatives department by fostering relationships and managing stakeholder engagement. You will work on-site in Surrey, British Columbia, as part of a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain relationships between FortisBC and Indigenous communities.
- Manage stakeholder tracking and communications.
- Plan and attend events relevant to company projects.
- Participate in internal and external project meetings.
- Create and deliver presentations for various audiences.
What you'll need#
- Self-identify as Indigenous and be a resident of British Columbia.
- Be 35 years or younger at the start of employment.
- Hold a degree, diploma, or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution or trades program.
- Possess a valid BC Driver’s License and the ability to travel across FortisBC service areas.
- Hold a valid Social Insurance Number.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
- Understand the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
- Proficient in MS Office and able to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
