About the role#
The Print Optimization Team works at the intersection of hardware, software, and materials to improve 3D print performance. As a Print Process Intern, you will focus on the SLS 3D printing platform. You will work to make our products print parts faster, more reliably, and with greater accuracy. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Push the capabilities of our SLS 3D printing platforms.
- Drive root cause analysis by considering mechanics, fluid dynamics, software, chemistry, optics, electronics, and thermodynamics.
- Design efficient experiments to understand behavior in complex systems.
- Tackle multi-disciplinary problems.
- Develop and commercialize solutions that improve customer print performance.
What you'll need#
- Hands-on approach and a willingness to cross discipline boundaries.
- Experience with CAD programs such as SolidWorks.
- Basic computer programming skills in Python.
- Understanding of material properties and characterization.
- Ability to build Design of Experiments (DOE) and custom tests.
- A portfolio is strongly encouraged.
Location & details#
- Location: On-site in Somerville, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January through April).
- Compensation: $1,300 to $1,650 per week.
- Benefits: Catered on-site lunches, snacks, pre-tax commuter benefits, and unlimited 3D printing. This position does not offer housing or relocation assistance.
