About the role#
The Nurse Technician provides basic patient care and nonprofessional support services under the close supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on ensuring patient comfort and assisting with daily activities while adhering to established hospital guidelines and nursing standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist with patient admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
- Measure, collect, and document patient data, such as vital signs, and report any changes in condition to the Registered Nurse.
- Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility.
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and special tests, including the collection and transport of specimens.
- Retrieve medications from the pharmacy or pneumatic tube system and deliver them as directed.
- Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and nursing station areas.
- Perform procedures consistent with your level of nursing education under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program. You must be a Junior or Senior level RN student who has completed a second clinical rotation, or an LPN student who has completed their first semester or term.
- Good standing within your nursing program with completion of basic patient skills.
- Active BLS Certification.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, computer skills, and customer service.
- Strong communication skills.
